At Linn of Dee the river passes east through a 300-metre natural rock gorge. Between there and Braemar, Lui Water (formed by Luibeg and Derry burns) and Quoich Water join the growing River Dee. The River Clunie enters the Dee at Braemar.
Throughtout the year Core94 Watersports will be running a diving trips to the Linn O Dee. We will be meeting at the shop at 8am in order to get away early and make a day of it. There is no limit to the number of dives you can make as it’s a shallow dive site (10m max) with short dives allowing for an exploration upstream and an exciting drift downstream to the get out.
This amazing dive site, situated just past Braemar, gives you the opportunity to get up close and personal with the massive salmon that swim the river Dee each year. Also available to see are the hungry eels (they love bread) and the stunning rock formations that you can only experience in a fast flowing river. There will be a BBQ out and cooking on site so if you bring your lunch it can be cooked beside the river between dives.
This is a weather dependent trip, in order for an enjoyable dive we need low water levels in the Linn and dry weather in the days leading up to the trip. If this doesn’t happen then we can make a day of it somewhere else in the North East.
