Lochaline and the world renowned Sound of Mull is the location for some of the best wreck dives in UK waters, the Sound also offers an abundance of fantastic drift, shallow, scenic and shore dive sites. Lochaline offers a real diverse range of dive sites to add to your logbook. Great wreck sites such as the Rondo, Hispania, Shuna, Thesis and Breda are all regularly dived, as well as drift dives at Loch Sunart and Calve Island, the underwater cliffs of Pennygowan Quarry and the scenic gullies and walls of Garvellachs and Grey Rocks.
In addition to being home to 17th century wrecks, the Sound is also a haven for marine life, where divers can easily see nudibranches, anemones, sunstars, deadmen’s fingers, sea squirts and much more.
We plan to leave Aberdeen late afternoon of Friday 20th April arriving in Localine around 8.30pm. We can check into our accomodation at the Lochaline Dive Centre and make our way down to the pub for a well earned pint.
On the morning of the Saturday we will sample the delights of a good breakfast before boarding our dive boat for the next two days.
Day 1 Saturday 21st April:
2 x Dives which will be tide depandant but hopefully something like the Rondo and SS Thesis.
After our day on the boat its back to our accomadation for dinner and stories of the days diving. We may even have to sample the local beer down at the Lochaline Hotel bar.
After a hearty breakfast its time to load your gear onto the boat for the final days diving.
Day 2 Sunday 22nd April:
2 x Dives which again will be tide dependant but we aim to get onto another two of the sounds famous wrecks.
Once the days dives are done its back to the harbour to unload the dive gear from the boat and into our transport home.
Nitrox will be available on this trip at an additional cost payable to Lochaline Dive Centre.
