Stirlinghill or Boddam Quarry as its also known is one of the world’s most popular dive sites, well it is if you look in any log book of a North East Divers log book.
The quarry is an ideal training site with an easily accessible entry point, following your giant stride entry is a short swim over a shallow shelf before a drop off into the first section that has a depth of around 14 meters.
The first section for the quarry has a maximum depth of 14 meters and is ideal for those venturing into the water for the first time. As you swim away from the entry point you have a small rise on your left before you can drop into the deeper section of the Quarry. The deep section of the quarry goes to a depth of around 24 meters and divers have marvelled at the Burger Van that awaits the next underwater explorer.
Assent / Descent lines have been place in the quarry and all divers are asked to look after this dive site as it is a real asset to all of the local diving community.
